By publishing a notification, it has been informed that the advertisement made by various political parties and candidates through social media will be included in the election expenses.

It has been seen that various political parties and candidates have started using social media to promote and advertise under the electoral system that will be the first to be elected under the election system of the House of Representatives and State Assembly members to be held on the 4th of March.

According to the commission’s policy on the use of social media in election management issued by the commission, 2007, the appropriate use of social media in all stages of the election process and the effective regulation, monitoring and evaluation of the information content communicated on social media were made in accordance with the action plan of the commission’s secretariat and subordinate offices. Continuous monitoring and evaluation of the work done is being done.

For the House of Representatives Provincial Assembly Member Election, 2039, the commission has already determined and made public the extent of the election expenses that the political parties and candidates can make, and the commission has reminded the relevant parties and candidates about the matter of including the advertisement made by the parties and candidates through the use of social media in the election expenses.

Election Code of Conduct 2079 has been arranged for political parties and candidates to comply with the election.

The Election Commission has requested the political parties and candidates concerned to prepare the expenditure details of all advertisements through social media, as they will be tested against the records in the Commission’s monitoring system, if the candidate is not included in the election expenditure statement to be submitted to the law after the completion of the election. .

Also, according to the Commission, Section 4 of the Election Code of Conduct 2078 states that misleading comments such as inciting, spreading misinformation, spreading misleading information, and giving hateful expressions on social media with the aim of influencing the election should not be made.
